Gathering people in a room to show the film, and have meaningful conversation is one of the best ways to inform and educate individuals on the issues surrounding student loan debt, and learning about cost-effective higher education options. To ensure maximum impact on our mission to help students graduate with less debt, we've developed a few options and resources to make your screening a success.


Screening Rights, Fees & Policies

In order to show the film publicly, or to a small audience behind closed doors, you must obtain a license. This allows us to function as a sustainable organization and protects our copyrighted work. Each license is good for one year (365 days) from purchase date.  

EDUCATIONAL LICENSE – $400

This license is for educational organizations (i.e.: high schools, libraries, colleges), and it allows you to...

  • Make the film available to students, staff and faculty members for the purposes of research, education, and any other non-commercial use.
  • Hold a private, non-theatrical screening that is not available to the public.
  • Show the film in an auditorium, and/or classrooms. 
  • You will be granted a digital download code to share 200 copies of the film with students, parents, staff, and faculty.
  • Please note that our current mode of delivery is via digital file transfer. No DVDs exist at this time.
  • This is the same as a "Public Performance Rights Licenses" at a 50% discount.

PUBLIC PERFORMANCE RIGHTS LICENSE  – $800

This license is for non-educational organizations such as theaters, businesses and corporations, and it allows you too...

  • Make the film available to students, staff and faculty members for the purposes of research, education, and any other non-commercial use
  • Hold a private, non-theatrical screening that's not available to the general public.
  • Please note that our current mode of delivery is via digital file transfer. No DVDs exist at this time.
  • You will be granted a digital download code to share 200 copies of the film with students, parents, staff, and faculty.

PUBLIC SCREENING LICENSE  – PRICE ON REQUEST

  • For public screenings not limited to educational institutions (ie: theaters, corporate showings).
  • For any screening where you are intending to charge an admission fee.
  • For any screening where you are interested in inviting the filmmaker(s).

FAQ

What does my license get me? 
The Education License grants you a one year license for BBD the film, Resource Guides, Screening Guide and 200 Free Parent Download codes upon request. 

How long does my education license last? 
The Education License is valid for 1 year (365 days) from purchase date, and can be renewed annually.

Can multiple teachers in my school show the film? 
Yes. The film is available across all classrooms and all school programs.

If I bought the film personally (ie: $7), can I show it to my classroom?
No! If the film is screened to a classroom, an education license is required. You can opt into that process that's explained above. 

Can I get a sponsor for the film? Yes, We have found great partnerships with credit unions, banks, and local businesses to bring the film into the class room sponsored by their company. 

Where are the resource guides? You will be sent access upon obtaining a license. 

Is there a Screening Guide? 
Yes, you can use this to present the film to your classroom from start to finish. It also has some great questions for follow up discussion. You will be sent access upon obtaining a license. 

Do you have speakers/filmmakers to present after our school shows the film?

Can I show this in a local library? 
Yes, libraries are covered under our Education License.

If a campus has multiple sites do they need a license for each site or one school? A license covers an entire organization.
